Rustic Chrome Series
Gino’s current series of oil paintings, Rustic Chrome Series, was inspired by a family visit to the Canadian Transportation Museum and Heritage Village (CTMHV) in Essex, Ontario, which features a reconstructed 1950’s diner and a vast collection of automobiles. Painted in a highly detailed surrealist style, these original oil paintings feature distinctive, stylish 1950s classic cars and rich, bright, striking colours brought on by bright summer days of rural settings. A close look at the brush work reveals Gino’s thoughts and emotions embedded in each piece. Smooth blending of tones and colours contrast with rustic textures allowing the rural atmosphere, automotive design and nostalgic imagery to evoke memories from a previous era and moods of simpler times.
